OWLs – Week 2 update

So week 2 has finished already.

I was hoping to have a lot more read by now however at least I can say that I have passed but I am still aiming to complete all 12 subjects. Also I have once again made slight changes to my list.

So here is the updated list of books and my progress:

Charms – Fairest by Marissa Meyer – 100%
Defense Against the Dark Arts – Don’t Judge a Girl by her Cover by Ally Carter – 100%
Herbology – Winter by Marissa Meyer – 35%
Transfiguration – Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling – 38%
Ancient Runes – Wonder Woman by Leigh Bardugo – 10%

Potions – The Silver Mask by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare
Care of Magical Creatures – Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J. K. Rowling
History of Magic – Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman
Divination – The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan
Astronomy – Stars Above by Marissa Meyer
Arithmacy – One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake
Muggle Studies – Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick

So I guess I have a lot of reading to get through.

So a few years ago I could have answered this without any issues as I never re-read books, however as I got older and read more I have found myself going back to books. I have noticed a reoccurring theme of the books that I don’t re-read is that they tend to be stand-alone books.

Disclaimer – these are listed as I feel right at this moment and as any good book lover is subject to change.

10 Escaped by Carolyn Jessop

9 Sickened by Julie Gregory

8 Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy

7 Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer

6 We Should Hang out Sometime by Josh Sundquist

5 We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

4 Mao’s Last Dancer by Li Cunxin

3 Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson & Lauren Myracle

2 The Fault in the Stars by John Green

1  The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien

I can’t believe the first week of the OWLs is already over. I definitely didn’t read as much as i would have liked and I am going to have to step it up if I want to pass all of my OWLs.

So as I predicted on the first day of the exams I decided that I was going to change my books slightly.

So here is the updated list of books and my progress:

Charms – Fairest by Marissa Meyer – 100%
Ancient Runes – Wonder Woman by Leigh Bardugo – 10%

Defense Against the Dark Arts – Don’t Judge a Girl by her Cover by Ally Carter
Potions – The Silver Mask by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare
Care of Magical Creatures – The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
Transfiguration – Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling
History of Magic – A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
Divination – The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan
Herbology – Winter by Marissa Meyer
Astronomy – Stars Above by Marissa Meyer
Arithmacy – One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake
Muggle Studies – Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick

So according to my calculations I need to read 195 pages for the remaining days in order to complete all of my OWLs. I am really busy this week as I have a dance competition in Sydney but hopefully I can get a bit of reading done on the flight and backstage.

Ok so this week was very difficult as normally the reason why I don’t like a book is because of the characters so most of these have come from books that I LOVED the characters but only liked the books (I hope that makes sense).

10 Alice Cullen – Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer

9 Jasmine – Deltora Quest Series by Emily Rodda

8 Dodge Anderson – The Looking Glass Wars Series by Frank Beddor

7 A – Pretty Little Liars Series by Sara Shepard

6Grover Underwood – Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan

5 Dashiell (Dash) Boomer – Dash & Lily Series by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan

4 Annabeth Chase – Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan

3 Rylin Myers – The Thousandth Floor Series by Katharine McGee

2 Aiden St. Delphi – Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

1 Grim – The Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa

So once again these aren’t my favourite characters of all time but they are my favourite characters excluding 5 star books.

Anyway Happy Reading

Since I live in Australia, 99% of the books I read are set in a different country so I have decided to tweak this topic a little. Instead of a different country I will be listing 10 of my favourite books that take place in a different world.

10 Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

9 Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan

8 The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

7 Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

6 Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

5Red Queen Series by Victoria Aveyard

4 Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J Maas

3 Shades of Magic Series by V E Schwab

2 The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

1 The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

Of course I would love to live in the Harry Potter world but I feel like it goes without saying.
